Artwork I commissioned from @rainbow-zebra-art of my Sabezra fankids, Brycan and Mazal Wren-Bridger! Thank you so much for this, RZ!
As a reminder for anyone interested, these two exist in my personal Star Wars AU, which is a hybrid of the Legends EU, Disney Canon, and other SW properties I want to squeeze in. I'll put some more specific stuff about them under the cut.
BRYCAN WREN-BRIDGER
Brycan was born on Krownest in 10 ABY, growing up in the immediate aftermath of the Thrawn Campaign. He grows up as a close friend of Jacen, Jaina and Anakin Solo, while also being super close to his "uncles" Kanan and Zeb and "aunts" Hera and Ketsu. Brycan is a kind and friendly boy who nontheless has a sarcastic streak rivaling his parents, and his passion for athletics and martial arts serves him well in his Mandalorian upbringing and Jedi training. Unsurprisingly, Brycan still grows up with a good deal of pressure, what with being descended from two cultural factions known for conflict with each other and being the child of two prominent war heroes. Determined to live up to his heritage while also stepping out of his parents' shadows, Brycan becomes a passionate Mandalorian warrior before enrolling in Luke Skywalker's Jedi Paraxeum on Yavin 4 at age 14. He does struggle to reconcile the contradictory aspects of the Mandalorians and the Jedi, but he does eventually learn to form a good balance with the help of his parents and Din Djarin.
The Yuuzhan Vong War puts Brycan though the biggest wringer yet, as the horrors of war cost him multiple friends and his mother is grievously wounded shortly after giving birth to his sister Mazal. He is roped into a faction of more militant Mandalorian crusaders who encourage him to give into his passions and pain, leading to a tense conflict with his father and a personal vendetta with the Vong commander Nas Choka. However, Ezra manages to save his son from falling down the dark path, and he rejects the hollow promises of revenge. He finally comes into his own as a Jedi Knight by wars' end, priding himself as a credit to his forebearers as a true Mandalorian Jedi.
Other notes:
-Brycan built his lightsaber in imitation of designs favored during the High Republic, featuring a physical crossguard below the emitter. Reflecting his mixture of Jedi and Mandalorian tradition, the crossguard is composed of solid beskar while his kyber crystal is an Adegan sapphire.
-Brycan is one of the most accomplished lightsaber duelists of his generation, mastering both the Shien and Djem-So sides of Form V as well as boasting a comprehensive academic understanding of numerous martial arts from across the galaxy. Thouhg he favors his lightsaber, he always wears a Mandalorian vambrace wherever he goes, loaded with a Dur-24 wrist laser, a fibercord whip, a portable energy shield, and whistling birds.
-Brycan's strength in the Force is easily comparable to his dad, though he appropriately focuses on the more physical aspects of his power. He's not as advanced a telepath as Ezra, but he compensates by being an awesome telekinetic and taking up a special interest in energy diffusion.
-While not as vibrant as his mom, he still inherited Sabine's artistic skill, particularly as a sketch artist. He can produce a nearly flawless rendering of someone in a heartbeat and has a talent for hand-drawn maps and starcharts. He occasionally cooks up new designs for his mom to try out.
-His best friend is Han and Leia's daughter Jaina, both of their natural fighting instincts feeding their desire to test and improve themselves. Sparring together is their favorite pastime, where they have traded wins and losses over the years.
-While a combat-oriented Jedi raised as a Mandalorian does raise some immediate assumptions, Brycan's passion for fighting is not as a blood sport. He sees it as a way of expression of his spirit, and he puts it to use for the good of others. He lives by the Form V maxim of "peace through superior firepower", wielding his skill to strike out at injustice and protect the innocent, not to flaunt his power. He doesn't go looking to pick a fight, but if fighting needs to be done, he is razor-keen and committed.
-Teenage rebellion and war trauma aside, he loves his parents more than anything in the world and adores his younger sister Mazal.
-Despite lacking Ezra's strong affinity for animals, Brycan does owns a Loth-wolf he rescued as a cub named Beskad (the mando'a word for "sword"). The two are nearly inseparable, though his efforts to mold Beskad into an oversized hunting dog have had minimal success.
MAZAL WREN-BRIDGER
Mazal was born on Mandalore in 26 ABY during the height of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. Growing up in the shadow of the conflict, Mazal resolved to do her part to help put the galaxy back together after being nearly ripped apart. Like her older brother, Mazal initially wanted to become a powerful Mandalorian Jedi warrior, joining in the battles and adventures. However, this was shattered when she went on her first serious combat mission, helping in an effort to subdue a combine of pirates seeking to exploit the post-war chaos on Carlac. The mission ended in a horrific disaster, with the strike team being decimated in an ambush and narrowly escaping back to GA space. Traumatized by her experiences, Mazal found her previous passion lost, even considering turning in her lightsaber and throwing out her armor so as to never be stained by that violence again. Fortunately, Mazal received much-needed counseling from both Jedi Healers and more mundane therapists, and Sabine helped her daughter rediscover her calling. Feeling that the galaxy needed healing hands far more than warriors, Mazal was drawn to the ideals of the late Duchess Satine Kryze, seeing the value of promoting peace over the use of force. Taking up the path of a Jedi Healer and joining the reformed Mandalorian Protectors, Mazal channeled her passion into humanitarian aid, traveling the galaxy to help pick up the pieces of disaster and conflict. In a way, she does manage to become just as much of a Mandalorian Jedi as Brycan, albeit one dedicated to the higher calling of the Force and the more grounded tenents of the Resol'nare.
Other notes:
-"Mazal" is a Hebrew name meaning "good fortune". I chose this to fit a naming theme with her father Ezra as well as to reflect the safety of her birth given Sabine's injuries soon afterward.
-Despite no longer being a dedicated fighter, Mazal still keeps up on her training. She may not like fighting, but if the people she's helping need a lightsaber to protect them or Mandalorian armor to shield them, she won't hesitate to use it.
-Powerful in her own right, Mazal's Force abilities manifest strongest in her advanced skill in the healing arts, directly studying under Master Cilghal at the Jedi Academy. She also shares her father's sense-based aptitude, focusing on life-detection and projective telepathy to aid in her relief work.
-Unlike Brycan, Mazal is just as much of an artist as Sabine, constantly redecorating her room with new paintings and sketches. Her hair is her most common canvas, rarely going a month with the same dye job.
-Mazal is a self-professed daddy's girl; not even the Force can get Ezra to say no to her. At the same time, possibly as a result of having come so close to losing her and her mother, Ezra is almost overprotective of her, and was beside himself when she came home shell-shocked from Carlac. Sabine grows closer to her during her recovery period, and their time painting together played a big part in getting her back on her feet.
-She gets along well with Ben Skywalker, both being close to each other during their training. Outside of her family, Ben's the one she can confide in the most.
-Mazal is bi and dates Zay Versio as a teenager.
Feel free to ask me more about these two!

Brycan exists in a hybrid AU of the Legends and Disney continuities. He's the son of Ezra and Sabine, born shortly after the Thrawn Trilogy. SABEZRA WEEK: Day 5 (Oct 27): Free
*My AU: Ezra and Sabine’s next big milestone as they send an up-and-coming Jedi apprentice off to his first day of training.*
“And you have everything packed?”
“Yes.”
“All the pieces of your armor?”
“Yes.”
“Spare ammo for your gauntlet?”
“Yes.”
“Extra power packs?”
“Yes.”
“Comlink, datapad, chargers, all our contact info?”
“Yes.”
“Toothbrush?”
“Mom.”
“Extra pairs of-”
“Mom!”
As he was finishing up the landing cycle, Jedi Master Ezra Bridger couldn’t help but chuckle at the antics coming from the back of the ship. It was one of the unique contrasts of the Mandalorian people that they could be extremely fussy and doting on their children despite their fearsome reputation. Mandalore the Defender had many attributes that distinguished her from the usual mold of her people, but on that front, she more than lived up to the standard. Sabine had been triple checking everything Brycan was bringing with him for the past week, as if he was going on an extended vacation in another galaxy or something. Ezra couldn’t blame her for being protective, especially given everything they had lived through and the lifestyle their boy was bound to take on. Still, Brycan was fourteen, an adult by Mandalorian standards and more than capable of being away from home for a few months at a stretch.
“Sabine,” he called as he got out of the cockpit, “go easy on him. It's not every day you start off at a Jedi Academy. Right, buddy?”
“Yep!” Brycan responded with a triumphant fist pump. The teenage boy was dressed in a mix of travel garb and combat gear that perfectly reflected someone raised by a Mandalorian rebel and a Bokken Jedi. A simple black flight suit, virtually indistinguishable from what most of the other students would be wearing, the only noticeable outward difference being the bright red vest draped over it. Underneath, however, one would be quick to find the sky blue Mandalorian breastplate, while the proudly displayed vambrace strapped to his left wrist spoke for itself.
Sabine sighed and brushed a strand of her now blue hair out of the way before smiling herself. “I know, I know,” she relented. “Just want to make sure my little Bry’ika is has everything he needs.” She moved her hand up to playfully rub her son’s short black hair. Despite his earlier embarrassment, Brycan took it in stride and couldn’t help but smile. Even without his constant mentioning of the subject for the past month and the feelings he was broadcasting through the Force, Ezra could tell he was excited about this. He had received plenty of training from his parents growing up, some would say he was a full Jedi already. But being at the academy, at the heart of so much history and knowledge, and with other apprentices his own age? That was a kind of learning at the heart of the Jedi tradition, one that Ezra and most of his peers had been sadly unable to get for themselves.
The landing ramp lowered just as Sabine ended her affectionate noogie. Brycan grabbed his duffle bag and eagerly made his way down, his parents trailing behind him. As they stepped into the Yavin jungle, the sensations of life all around them, Ezra felt the Force with a degree of intensity and fullness one could only find here. There had been darkness here for centuries, but the light was taking its hold once again, just as the Jedi were gradually returning to the galaxy.
Ezra brought his attention back to the present when he felt Sabine’s hand clasp his own. He looked on to his eager son, briefly noting the glimpse of a silvery cylinder bouncing on his belt. He suddenly remembered something he needed to say.
“And don’t forget,” he said, moving to catch up with Brycan, “the other students don’t have their own lightsabers yet. So don’t go parading that thing around.”
“Don’t worry, Dad, I won’t.” Brycan assured his father. Sadly, the apparent mark of humility quickly gave way to a cocky grin. “It’s not like I’ll need it anyway. I’m already a better fighter than any of these guys.”
“You sure about that?”
Before anyone could register the direction of the new voice, a brown blur came barreling out of the brush, tackling Brycan to the ground. Ezra and Sabine jumped a bit, their hands instinctively reaching for their weapons, but they stopped themselves when they got a better look at the assailant.
Brycan Bridger, warrior of Clan Wren and child of two of the New Republic’s greatest heroes, was flailing on the ground as a girl no older than he had pinned him down, twisting his arm as a playful smirk graced her features.
“Say it.”
“No!”
“Say it!”
“I said no, Jaina!”
“Dude, just say it.” a third voice chimed in as a boy with the same brown hair and eyes as the girl came out. “She’s gonna keep you there all day otherwise.”
“You’re not helping, Jacen!” Brycan growled.
“I don't’ know, I’d say he’s helping quite a bit.”
“Why you little-”
“Okay, okay, that’s enough.” Ezra stepped in to pull Jaina off Brycan. The young man brushed his pants off as he shot a half-hearted glare at the elder Solo twin.
“Lucky shot.”
“Consider this a lesson in keeping your guard up, my son.” Ezra laughed as he rubbed Brycan’s head. He then turned to the two newcomers, who were unquestionably his son’s two closest friends despite the little ambush. “And I trust the two of you will help him grow and learn from this experience?”
Jacen and Jaina rolled their eyes. “Yes, Master Ezra.”
Sabine laughed and walked up to the twins. “I'd say it’s good to see the two of you staying out of trouble, but that would require me to forget who your parents are.”
The twins gave a half-hearted shrug as Brycan came over. “So, what’s going on?” he asked excitedly. “How many other kids are here?”
“Last I checked,” said Jaina, ticking off her fingers, “About two dozen so far. Uncle Luke hasn’t said anything about how we’re being divvied up yet, but I saw him talking to one of the other Masters about room assignments.”
“Well, what’re we waiting for?” Jacen asked. “Let’s go, we’ve got Jedi training to do!”
Brycan’s excitement burned like a hyperdrive engine as he chased after his friends, leaving his parents standing by the ship. Looking over, Ezra saw Sabine looking on with an expression that mixed pride and sadness in equal measure. One that they had both received from Hera plenty of times over the years. He put his arm around her shoulder and pressed a kiss to her cheek.
“He’s going to be fine.” he assured her.
“I know, it’s just...” she gave a deep sigh as moisture gathered at the corner of her eyes. “How did he grow up so fast?”
Ezra wanted to reply with a good comeback, something about how Brycan was so lucky to have grown up the way he did, afforded a luxury both of his parents had been denied.
Instead, he held his tongue, and joined Sabine in simply looking on as their son ran off to a new chapter of his life. Brycan Wren-Bridger was on his way to becoming one of a new generation of Jedi Knights.

Anakin's story is mostly the same here for now, though I'll have to wait a bit to iron out some details seeing as (confession time) I haven't actually read any of his major stories. My understanding of the New Jedi Order books is almost wholly through pop culture osmosis, and I am itching for the chance to get around to actually read/listen to that series (Essential Legends Collection, get on that!)
Off the top of my head, Anakin in my AU hops on to his mechanical aptitude early on with the encouragement of Rowen Freemaker, a full Knight by the time his training starts. He also bonds with Ahsoka, who helps him along with reconciling his complicated feelings about his namesake through telling him about Anakin Sr.'s better qualities. He and his siblings are also close friends with my ocs Brycan and Vesta. One big change I DO have is that Chewbacca does NOT die at the start of the Vong War, so the severe straining between him and Han doesn't happen. Someone does still die there, though, so his resolve to take the fight to the Vong remains the same.
As far as his future is concerned, I'm debating whether to stick to his original story or have him survive Myrkr, partially due to me disliking character death, but mostly because I got attached to the What-if scenario resented by EvanNova95 at the end of his video on Anakin (great watch btw).
youtube
I like the micros you did of your New Jedi Order. Do you have any writings of them by any chance? 👀
First of all, thank you!
Most of the characters who were part of the NJO in Legends are more or less the same in this AU, but I do have plenty of headcanons/fic ideas (the latter my slow butt sadly doubts will ever get around to writing) and ideas about my OCs and the AU-specific members i.e. Ezra, Starkiller and Lop. Anyone you want to know about specifically?

SABEZRA WEEK: Day 5 (Nov 18): AU/Free Day
*My AU: A morning in the life of the Wren-Bridger family*
(putting this one under the cut because it's much longer than my other entries. Appropriate, seeing as this is the last day and we might as well go out with a technicolor bang!)
“Ezra. Come on, up and at em.”
Jedi Master Ezra Bridger groaned as he managed to wake from his slumber. Light from the windows shone straight into his eyes, forcing him to blink a few times before getting to his senses. Finally reaching a sitting position, he began to stretch himself awake. At 59 standard years of age, Ezra was far from the energetic youth he had once been, the scars around his face and torso serving as mementos of what his body had endured over decades of service. Still, age had not slowed him down to the point where even the most sarcastic padawan could denigrate him as an “old man”. The Force did wonders for a Jedi, as he had become increasingly aware of over his career. Breathing deeply, he allowed its currents to wash over him, filling him with awareness of every corner of the bedroom.
Finally in a state of proper alertness, Ezra turned to see a pair of beautiful brown eyes framed by green and yellow dyed locks. The galaxy had many names for the woman beside him; Mandalore the Defender, Countess of Clan Wren, the Crusader of Krownest, the Painted Warrior. But for Ezra, the only name that mattered was Sabine Wren-Bridger. The years had taken a toll on her as well, but to Ezra, she was just as beautiful as she had been when he first laid eyes on her. Even devoid of her colorful armor, Sabine commanded a figure that exhibited strength and fortitude, worthy of the finest of warriors, yet he and a select few knew the gentleness that she could just as easily embody.
“Time to get up, huh?”
“What clued you in?” Sabine replied with a light laugh, leaning over to peck her husband on the cheek. “Frankly, I’m surprised Brycan didn’t wake you up first with all that slashing.”
Ezra rolled his eyes as he threw back the bedclothes and made his way over to the refresher. True enough, his ears picked up the unmistakable hum of a lightsaber being swung in the courtyard below.
“After twenty years, you tend to grow numb to the noise in the morning.”
A few minutes later, the pair were cleaned and dressed for their days. Sabine’s armor was just as vibrant as ever, the bright painted colors further supported by the purple shoulder cape and half kilt strung over her left side. Even after she had officially stepped down as Mand’alor, passing the title to the reluctant yet worthy Din Djarin, people still regarded her by her former position. Unsurprising given all she had accomplished during her tenure and what she had led her people through. Even now she was still being called upon to aid the Mandalorian Union and advise its leadership. Sabine often joked about how she was now in a perpetual state of “semi-retirement”. For his part, Ezra was a far cry from the street rat he had once been, even beyond his prominent position on the Jedi Council. The robes of the Jedi Order had been his choice of wardroom for a long time now, though he still stood out in his own ways. Aside from the earthy browns, oranges and reds he preferred, what truly distinguished him was the flowing black cape that hung from his shoulders, a gift from Tristan for the wedding. Though seemingly ostentatious for a Jedi, even the less standardized kind that had cropped up in Luke’s earliest classes of students, Ezra never flaunted this decoration, wearing it only as a symbol of the world he had joined upon marrying Sabine. Even then, Ezra thought it made him look quite dashing, though Sabine preferred the word “dork” on occasion.
Descending the stairs, Ezra and Sabine were greeted by the smell of fresh nuna sausage wafting from the kitchen. Seated at the counter was a young woman of fifteen years with vivid green and red hair garbed in a green tunic and black leggings. She was pouring over a datapad in one hand while a half-eaten sausage hovered in the other. A suitcase sat on the ground at her feet, packed and ready to go at a moment’s notice. While Ezra and Sabine had not made much noise coming down, the girl, her Force sense every bit as potent as her father’s, perked up anyway and turned, revealing her coppery face and her mother’s eyes.
“Nice of you guys to join us.” Mazal Wren-Bridger said with mock annoyance. She gestured to her plate. “There’s more on the stove.”
“Thanks, sweetheart.” Ezra gave his daughter a light kiss on the top of her head before making his way to the food. “Has your brother eaten yet?”
Mazal snorted. “He’d have to leave that yard, first.”
Looking out the window, Ezra saw the source of the humming beforehand. Beyond his lighter tanned complexion, the young man was almost the spitting image of his father, with a black buzz cut and blue eyes. Priding himself as a Mandalorian Jedi, Brycan Wren-Bridger never went a single morning without going through his drills. Clad only in sweatpants and an undershirt, Brycan moved his weapon with a flawless fusion of power, speed, and precision, everything one would expect from one of the most talented swordsmen of his generation. Brycan’s feet moved just as readily as his lightsaber, transitioning from various stances and postures with the fluidity of a dancer. He had clearly been at this for hours, a visible sheen of sweat covering his face and arms. Ezra had a distinct feeling that if the shining blue blade came any closer to Brycan’s skin, he would hear the unmistakable sizzle of evaporating moisture. In contrast to his master, the large domesticated Loth-wolf also out in the yard was lazily spread out on the grass, letting the rising Coruscant sun warm its steely fur.
With a final exertion, Brycan leapt into the air, threw out his leg in a powerful kick, then regained his stance to finish the sequence with an overhead chop that would have split a boulder down the middle as if it were made of flimsi. Giving his son a moment to properly bring himself to a stop, Ezra entered the courtyard himself. The grasses and flowers that made up the bulk of the yard reflected both Sabine’s colorful expression and the prairies Ezra had known all his life, though the real hallmark was the pair of saplings planted at either end. One a Lothalian spine tree, the other a Mandalorian galek, both had been planted upon the re-establishment of the Galactic Alliance on Coruscant. While Ezra and Sabine each had their preferences of residence on their respective homeworlds, these small details made the Coruscant penthouse feel that much more like home for the both of them.
Ezra reached Brycan just as he came out of his stance and reached for a towel to wipe the sweat from his brow. Letting out a breathy laugh, Brycan clipped his deactivated lightsaber to his belt. “So, you’re finally up and about,” he remarked, proudly displaying the sarcasm that was just as much his heritage as the Force and Resol’nare were.
“Funny,” Ezra rolled his eyes, “your sister just told us the same thing. as well as the fact that you’re training on an empty stomach.”
“The Force gives me all I need.”
“So you wouldn’t mind if I just gave all these,” he held out a small plate of sausages he and pilfered from the kitchen, “to Beskad over there?”
At the sound of his name, the Loth-wolf sprang from its prone position and patted over, attracted to the smell of grilled meat.
“Oh, no you don’t, you lazy furball!” Brycan got in the way of his pet before his breakfast could disappear. “You know the rules” he continued as he collected the plate from Ezra, “he who does not train does not eat.”
Beskad whimpered, giving his master the same eyes he had used to score table scraps as a pup. Mandalorian warrior discipline was no match for Loth-wolf pouting, as the family had learned quite well over the years. Letting out a sigh, Brycan relented and tossed a link in the air. With a snap, it vanished into Beskad’s waiting maw.
Brycan shook his head and made his way towards the house. “So much for the mighty Lothal predator.”
“You reap what you sow, my son.” Ezra replied with amusement. Patting Beskad on the snout, he followed Brycan back into the house, where Sabine had just finished depositing hastily-prepared fried eggs and a bowl of sliced jogan on the table.
“Thanks, Mom,” said Brycan as he sat down and started inhaling his food. Not exactly the most comprehensive family meal, but everyone had work to get to, including three transports leaving the planet by the end of the day. Mazal was still pouring over her datapad, absentmindedly pushing a piece of egg into her cheek.
Sabine, chuckled slightly at her daughter’s predicament. “Mazal, that report’s not going to disappear if you look away for five minutes.”
“Captain Rekross wanted us to know the dossier inside and out before we even got on the ship. The planet’s already got a ridiculous amount of climate factors besides the groundquakes that just happened. Getting relief to the people planetside isn’t going to do much good if we get swept up in a storm we weren’t prepared for.”
“Well,” Brycan chimed in, “considering you have the memory of a droid, you should be able to recite that thing by heart after all the time you stare at it.”
Mazal groaned at her brother’s comment. “Contrary to what you may think, planetary humanitarian efforts are not as simple as just swinging a lightsaber at something.”
“Simple?” asked Brycan incredulously, “You call this simple? I’ve been practicing those techniques for months-“
“Alright, alright,” Ezra held up his hands between his children, “No need to tear up the kitchen.”
“No, no, no,” the elder sibling said with a cocky smile on his face, “I wasn’t gonna break anything. Just help my baby sister appreciate the art of lightsaber combat more. Help me out, Dad? It’s been a while since we’ve had a go.”
Ezra caught Sabine shaking her head at the antics. Freshly knighted, Ezra would have jumped at the chance to give his son the chance to hone his skills. Not to toot his own horn, but Ezra knew he was quite the proficient swordsman himself. Now, however, was not the time.
“Much as I’d love to show you what your old man’s still capable of,” Ezra said with a light chuckle, patting the weapons at his belt for good measure, “I’ve got a day full of meetings with the Council and I doubt they’ll appreciate one of their fellows sweating like a bantha.”
“Luke’s seen you worse.” Sabine added her own snark to the mix.
“Don’t worry, bro,” Mazal chimed in, “you’ll have time to show me your ‘special art’” she added the other with a hint of faux wonderment that caused Brycan to roll his eyes, “some other time. Who knows? Those pirates you’re off to hunt down might show up where I’m going.”
“yeah, I guess that’s-“
Brycan stopped. His smile faded as he looked to the chrono on the wall. “Karabast!” he shoved what remained of his breakfast into his mouth. “Briefing’s at 0900, I’m gonna be late!”
“You haven’t cleaned up yet.” Sabine called after Brycan as he bolted upstairs.
“I’ll shower on the ship!” Less than a minute after he left the room, he returned in his usual travel garb, his travel bag clanking with the additional pieces of his armor. His eyes darted all over as he struggled to get his jacket on. “Helmet, helmet…where’s my helmet?”
“Here!” Mazal reached out her hand and the blue and red headgear flew from the caf table. The helmet, adorned with Nite Owl eyes and Loth-wolf ridges, barely spent a second in her hands before she tossed it to her brother.
“Thanks, Maz.” Brycan leaned to place a light kiss on her head before giving his mother a one-armed hug. Next he turned to Ezra. “Oh, Dad, before I forget, the stuff for the exhibition-“
“Don’t worry,” Ezra reassured, placing his hand on Brycan’s shoulder to help him relax. “I’ll be in a conference room with Kyle all day and your mother’s going to see Kad this week. We’ll let you know if anything changes.”
Brycan let out a sigh of relief. “Thanks, Dad.” Checking the chrono once more, he wheeled around to the door.
“Be careful,” called Sabine, “And don’t fly too fast!”
“I’ll be fine, Mom!” Brycan called back. “Love you!”
“I better get going, too.” Mazal scraped what was uneaten into the disposal and reached for her belt and cloak. “Ship leaves at 1100.”
“Call us once you jump to hyperspace.” Ezra said as he collected what remained of the breakfast plates.
“Don’t worry, I will.” Mazal reassured her parents as she finally switched off her datapad and slid it into her suitcase. Checking to make sure her lightsaber was properly secured, Mazal hugged Sabine then Ezra. “Say hi to Uncle Tristan for me!”
With everything squared away, Ezra and Sabine were soon out the door themselves. Brycan was just firing up the engines for his speeder as Mazal took a moment to scratch a waiting Beskad behind the ear, her own speeder bike waiting just beyond. Only one vehicle remained, a 4-seater adorned with a large Starbird on the hood. Ezra started to make his way over before turning back to face his wife.
“You sure you don’t want me to drop you off at the spaceport? I mean, we have our own ship. It’ll save Tristan some speeder fuel.”
Sabine shook her head. “This is a formal council for the Union. Korkie insists there be some semblance of formality, even for an ex-Mand’alor.”
“Never thought the Mandalorians would be caught up in administrations.”
“If any other Mando heard you say that…”
“Good thing I’m only talking to this one, then.”
Sabine couldn’t help but laugh. It was a sound Ezra regarded as one of the most wonderful in the galaxy, one that had never gotten old even after nearly fifty years together. As Sabine’s laughter died down, Ezra took a long look at the house behind her. The simple yet homy two story complex, the spacious courtyard with its varied plant life and the slothful Loth-wolf returning to his slumber. He though of the building’s counterparts on Lothal and Krownest, similar in design yet more articulated to the planets in question. Most of all, he thought of the four people who called all three of those structures home. One of whom was standing right before him.
Sabine finally noticed Ezra’s wandering gaze. She approached her husband. “What is it?”
“Oh, nothing,” he said, looking into those warm brown eyes. “Just thinking about how I’m probably the luckiest guy in the galaxy.”
Sabine smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck and gazing into his deep blues.
“Funny. I was about to say I was the luckiest girl in the galaxy.”
“Not bad for a Loth-rat, huh?”
Sabine didn’t answer. She didn’t need to. From the deep kiss she gave him, right there on that beautiful sun-lit platform, even without the Force whispering in his ear, Ezra knew exactly what she was thinking.

OC Name: Mazal Wren-Bridger
Pronouns: She/her
Species: Human
Status:
The younger child of Ezra and Sabine and the younger sister of Brycan. Mazal was born during the height of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, growing up in the shadow of the conflict. Like her older brother, Mazal initially wanted to become a powerful Mandalorian Jedi warrior, joining in the battles and adventures. However, this was shattered when she went on her first serious combat mission, which ended in a horrific disaster. Traumatized by her experiences, Mazal found her previous passion lost, even considering turning in her lightsaber and throwing out her armor. Fortunately, Mazal recieved much-needed counseling from both Jedi Healers and more mundane therapists, and Sabine helped her daughter rediscover her calling. Other notes: -"Mazal" is a Hebrew name meaning "good fortune". I chose this to fit a naming theme with her father Ezra as well as to reflect the safety of her birth given Sabine's injuries soon afterward. -Despite no longer being a dedicated fighter, Mazal still keeps up on her training. She may not like fighting, but if the people she's helping need a lightsaber to protect them, she won't hesitate to use it. -She gets along well with Ben Skywalker, both being close to each other during their training. Outside of her family, Ben's the one she can confide in the most. -Mazal is bi and dates Zay Versio as a teenager.

OC Name: Brycan Wren-Bridger
Pronouns: He/Him
Species: Human
Status:
Brycan exists in a hybrid AU of the Legends and Disney continuities. He's the son of Ezra and Sabine, born shortly after the Thrawn Trilogy. Determined to live up to his heritage while also stepping out of his parents' shadows, Brycan becomes a passionate Mandalorian warrior before enrolling in Luke Skywalker's Jedi Paraxeum on Yavin 4.
He is roped into a faction of more militant Mandalorian crusaders who encourage him to give into his passions and pain, leading to a tense conflict with his father. However, Ezra manages to save his son from falling down the dark path, and he rejects the hollow promises of revenge. He finally comes into his own as a Jedi Knight by wars' end, priding himself as a credit to his forebearers as a true Mandalorian Jedi. Other notes: -Brycan's lightsaber features a metallic crossguard, giving it the profile of a knight's broadsword. -While not as vibrant as his mom, he still inherited Sabine's artistic skill, particularly as a sketch artist. -His best friend is Han and Leia's daughter Jaina, both of their natural fighting instincts feeding their desire to test and improve themselves. -Teenage rebellion and war trauma aside, he loves his parents more than anything in the world and adores his younger sister Mazal. -He owns a Loth-wolf he rescued as a cub named Beskad (the mando'a word for "sword") -One of his fondest childhood memories is getting piggyback rides from Zeb.
Check him out here!
